January 11 (SeeNews) - Serbia's international airport in Nis, in the east of the country, said it serviced 146,296 passengers in 2021, which represents a 5% decline compared to the previous year.
The number of flights to and from the airport rose to 1,040 in 2021 from 1,011 in 2020, figures posted on its website showed on Monday.
Cargo volume went down to 310.7 tonnes from 522.7 tonnes, marking a 41% yearly drop. The number of cargo flights climbed from 32 in 2020 to 39 in 2021.
Apart from the one in Nis, Serbia has two other international airports. One is located in Belgrade, and the other one, at the moment offering only flights to Istanbul, is in Kraljevo, in central Serbia.
