SKOPJE (Macedonia), October 21 (SeeNews) – Macedonia’s transport ministry said on Tuesday that nine companies placed bids in a tender for the upgrade of 10 railway stations along the pan-European Corridor X, but it revealed no names.
The evaluation of bids should be concluded by the end of the year, the transport ministry said in a statement on its website.
The following stations will be rehabilitated under the contract: Veles, Prilep, Bitola, Gevgelija, Bogomila, Chashka, Tabanovce, Demir Kapija, Gradsko and Negotino.
The aim of the contract is to improve the overall quality of services for passengers and cargo and upgrade the technical standards and capacity of the railway stations along the X-d branch of the corridor.
Corridor X links western Europe with Greece over land. It stretches 2,360 kilometres across eight countries.
