March 24 (SeeNews) - Telekom Slovenije [LJE:TLSG] said it was served with a 122.7 million euro ($132.9 million) claim for a collective compensation from the local association of minority shareholders, VZMD.
The compensation claim including interest and other expenses was sent to Telekom Slovenije by the Ljubljana District Court, Slovenia's biggest telecommunications operator said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Thursday.
VZMD lodged the lawsuit against Telekom Slovenije at the end of 2022, claiming a damage to customers was done in the last five years through overcharges on subscription plans introduced without anticipated reasons for a price rise and a method to calculate it. Back then, VZMD said several subscribers of the four Slovenian telecommunications services providers, namely Telekom Slovenije, A1 Slovenija, Telemach and T-2, turned to it for support for their claims.
Telekom Slovenije said that it will respond to the lawsuit within the legal deadline.
VZMD, a non-governmental organization representing the rights and interests of minority shareholders in Slovenia, also plans to launch similar compensation claims against A1 Slovenija, Telemach and T-2.
