December 5 (SeeNews) - A new terminal worth 150 million euro ($158 million) will open at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla airport in the summer, the Serbian government said.
The project is part of an overall investment of 732 million euro by the concessionaire, French airport operator Vinci, infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said, as quoted in a government statement on Friday.
Following the completion of the new terminal, the Belgrade Airport will have the capacity to handle 15 million passengers.
Vinci airports signed a 25-year concession agreement to finance, operate and upgrade the airport in 2018.
Prior to the signing of the concession deal with Vinci, Belgrade airport had a capacity of five million passengers.
Passenger traffic at Belgrade Airport stood at 2.035 million in the third quarter of 2022, an increase of 34% on the year, according to Vinci data.
