January 18 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Romania rose by an annual 6.7% to 129,328 units in 2022, provisional data from the European Automobile Manufactures’ Association, ACEA, indicated on Wednesday.
This was the fourth highest rate of increase in new passenger car registrations in the EU, after Bulgaria (16.9%), Latvia (16.5%) and Cyprus (9.4%), the data showed. Overall, new passenger car registrations within the EU, excluding Malta, decreased by 4.6% last year, to 9.255 million units.

In December alone, new passenger car registrations in Romania increased by 4.9% on the year, to 12,437. Dacia’s market share across the EU rose to 4.8% in 2022, from 4% a year prior.
