June 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose to 7,097 in May from 4,186 in the same month of 2022, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Monday.
Renault was the top-selling brand in the country of some 3.89 million people with 878 cars sold in May, Promocija Plus said in a statement. Its sales rose on an annual comparison basis, from 226 cars sold in May 2022.
Volkswagen followed with 815 cars, up from 463 in May 2022, and Skoda ranked third with 787 cars, up from 286 last year.
The best-selling models in May were Renault Clio with 467 cars sold, followed by Skoda Octavia with 391 ones, and Dacia Duster with 292 cars sold.
New car sales in the first five months of 2023 totalled 26,584, up from 18,419 in the same period of 2022.
Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell 2.7% last year to 44,088, following an annual increase of 25.5% in 2021, according to earlier figures by the same agency.
