September 4 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose to 3,475 in August from 3,320 in the same month of 2022, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Monday.
Skoda was the top-selling brand in the country of some 3.89 million people with 465 cars sold in August, Promocija Plus said in a statement. Its sales rose on an annual comparison basis, from 324 cars sold in August 2022.
Volkswagen followed with 391 cars, up from 378 in August 2022. Dacia ranked third with 297 cars, up from 257 last year.
The best-selling models in August were Dacia Duster with 172 ones, Skoda Octavia with 152 cars sold, and Suzuki Vitara with 97 cars sold.
New car sales in the first eight months of 2023 totalled 42,485, up from 32,245 in the same period of 2022.
Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell 2.7% last year to 44,088, following an annual increase of 25.5% in 2021, according to earlier figures by the same agency.
