January 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose by 25.5% year-on-year in 2021, reaching 45,389 vehicles, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Wednesday.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 5,738 cars sold last year, up from 5,638 sold in 2020, Promocija Plus said in a statement.
Skoda followed with 4,571 cars, down from 4,862 in 2020, and Opel ranked third with 3,602 cars sold last year, up from 1,677 in 2020.
The best-selling models in Croatia last year were Opel Corsa, with 4.13% of all sales, Skoda Octavia with a 4.10% market share and Dacia Duster with 3.71%.
In December alone, sales of new passenger cars in Croatia totalled 2,484, up from 2,078 in December 2020 but down from 2,560 in November 2021.
