January 7 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia increased 15.7% month-on-month to 4,022 in December after falling by 15.3% in November, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Tuesday.
In January-December, the sales of new cars in Croatia increased by 4.8% to 62,938, as compared to sales in 2018, Promocija Plus said in an e-mailed statement.
Fiat was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 609 vehicles sold in December, up from just 60 units a month earlier.
Volkswagen was the runner-up with 428 cars sold in December, down from 614 in November. Ford ranked third with 351, up from 84 in November.
In 2019, Volkswagen was the most popular brand in Croatia with a total of 8,481 cars sold, followed by Skoda with 5,873 and Renault with 5,807.
The best-selling car models in Croatia in December were Fiat 500, of which 304 units were sold, followed by Dacia Sandero with 143, while Renault Clio and Volkswagen Golf shared third place with 116 cars sold each.
In 2019, the best selling car model in Croatia was Skoda Octavia with 3,320 units sold, followed by Renault Clio with 2,347 cars and Volkswagen Golf with 2,304.
