May 6 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell 87% year-on-year in April, to 1,084, market research agency Promocija Plus said.
On a monthly comparison basis, new car sales in Croatia in April were 60% lower, Promocija Plus said in a statement on Tuesday.
In the January-April period, new car sales in Croatia fell 47% on the year to 11,113.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 204 vehicles sold in April, down from 438 in March.
Skoda was the runner-up with 193 cars sold in April, down from March's 360. Renault ranked third with 82 sold vehicles, down from 189 in March.
The best-selling car models in Croatia in April were Skoda Octavia, of which 84 cars were sold, followed by Volkswagen Golf with 55, while Volkswagen T-Cross and Dacia Duster shared the third place with 32 cars sold.
In 2019, Volkswagen was the most popular brand in Croatia with a total of 8,481 cars sold, followed by Skoda with 5,873 and Renault with 5,807.
