October 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell by 10.3% year-on-year in September to 2,773 vehicles, compared with 3,090 in the same month of last year, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, new car sales in August declined by 2.4 % from August's 2,841 sold units, Promocija Plus said in a statement.
In the first nine months of 2021, new car sales in Croatia rose by 32.3% year-on-year, reaching 37,392.
Kia was was top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 249 vehicles sold in September, up from 241 in August.
Hyundai was the runner-up with 228 cars sold in September, up from 172 in August. Volkswagen ranked third with 217 units sold in September, down from 411 in August.
The best-selling models in Croatia in September were Dacia Sandero, of which 107 cars were sold, followed by Dacia Duster with 91 and Kia Stonic with 83.
New car sales in Croatia decreased by 43% to 36,084 last year.
