January 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell 2.7% last year to 44,088, following an annual increase of 25.5% in 2021, data by market research agency Promocija Plus showed on Thursday.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 3.89 million people with 5,288 cars sold in 2022, Promocija Plus said in a statement. Its sales fell an annual comparison basis, from 4,783 cars sold in 2021.
Skoda followed with 4,506 cars, down from 4,571 in 2021, and Kia ranked third with 3,413 cars, down from 3,226 last year.
The best-selling models last year Skoda Octavia with 1,957 sold cars, followed by Dacia Duster with 1,523 cars and Opel Crossland with 1,284.
Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose to 2,703 in December 2022 from 2,484 in the same month of 2021.
