April 16 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Bulgaria declined to 98.6 million euro ($118.2 million) in the January-February period of this year from 228.8 million euro in the like period of 2020, the central bank said on Friday.
The net FDI inflow in the first two months of 2021, calculated according to the directional principle, was equal to 0.2% of Bulgaria's 2021 forecast gross domestic product, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
The largest net FDI inflow into Bulgaria in the review period, of 30.8 million euro, originated in the Netherlands. Germany and the U.K. followed with 16.4 million euro and 11.1 million euro, respectively.
In February alone, Bulgaria recorded a net FDI inflow of 64.7 million euro, down from an inflow of 120.4 million euro in the same month of 2020.
