August 17 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Bulgaria fell 2.4% year-on-year to 657.8 million euro ($773.4 million) in the six months through June, the central bank said on Tuesday.
The net FDI inflow in the January-June period, calculated according to the directional principle, was equal to 1% of Bulgaria's 2021 forecast gross domestic product, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
The largest net FDI inflow into Bulgaria in the review period, of 457.3 million euro, originated in Luxembourg, followed by France with 171.6 million euro and Germany with 164.9 million euro. The largest net FDI outflows originated in the UK and the Netherlands - of 196.9 million euro and 222.1 million euro, respectively.
In June alone, Bulgaria recorded a net FDI inflow of 372.1 million euro, up from 57.4 million euro inflow in the same month of last year.
