April 20 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Bulgaria grew to 408.1 million euro ($442.3 million) in the first two months of 2022 from 202.5 million euro in the comparable period of last year, the central bank said on Wednesday.
The net FDI inflow in January and February, calculated according to the directional principle, amounted to 0.3% of Bulgaria's 2021 forecast gross domestic product, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
Switzerland accounted for the largest net FDI inflow into Bulgaria in the review period, of 143.5 million euro. Luxembourg and Germany followed as sources of direct investments of 68.1 million euro and 67.4 million euro, respectively.
In February alone, Bulgaria recorded a net FDI inflow of 141 million euro, a decrease from the inflow of 146.6 million euro in the same month of 2020.
