PRISTINA (Kosovo), August 26 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) to Kosovo totalled 41.5 million euro ($46.2 million) in May, up from 19.3 million euro in the same month of 2018, according to preliminary data published by the central bank.
By comparison, foreign remittances to Kosovo totalled 78.4 million euro in May, up 6.4% year-on-year.
The biggest single volume of inbound foreign investment in Kosovo in May, of 8.5 million euro, originated in Slovenia. Germany followed with 7.7 million euro.
The sectors, which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in May were real estate, renting and business activities with 21.5 million euro, and transport, storage and communication with 8.1 million euro.
In 2018, the net inflow of FDI to Kosovo totalled 231.5 million euro, down from 281.3 million euro in 2017.
