PRISTINA (Kosovo), June 5 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) to Kosovo totalled 17.9 million euro ($20.1 million) in March, up from 1.7 million euro in the same month of 2018, according to preliminary data published by the central bank.
By comparison, foreign remittances to Kosovo totalled 71.7 million euro in March, up 15.3% year-on-year.
The biggest single volume of inbound foreign investment in Kosovo in March, of 4.8 million euro, originated in Germany. Switzerland followed with 3.7 million euro.
The sectors, which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in March were real estate, renting and business activities with 15.8 million euro, and financial intermediation with 5.3 million euro.
In 2018, the net inflow of FDI to Kosovo totalled 231.5 million euro, down from 281.3 million euro in 2017.
