PRISTINA (Kosovo), March 11 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) to Kosovo totalled 231.5 million euro ($260 million) last year, down from 281.3 million euro in 2017, according to central bank data.
By comparison, foreign remittances to Kosovo totalled 800.8 million euro in 2018, up 5.5% year-on-year.
In December alone, the net inflow of foreign direct investment fell to 12.8 million euro, from 15.3 million euro in the same month of 2017, central bank data showed.
The biggest single volume of inbound foreign investment in Kosovo in December, of 8.0 million euro, originated in Switzerland. The Netherlands followed with 7.7 million euro.
The sectors, which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in December were real estate, renting and business activities with 13.7 million euro, and financial intermediation with 8.0 million euro.
