PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 31 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro fell to 250.6 million euro ($284 million) in the first eight months of 2018, from 284.5 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow rose to 545.7 million euro in the first eight months of 2018 from 367.9 million euro in January-August 2017, while FDI outflow grew to 295.2 million euro from 83.4 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks rose to 217.3 million euro in the period under review, from 103.1 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew 21% on the year to 117.1 million euro.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending rose to 198.1 million euro in January-August, from 159.8 million euro in the like period of 2017.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro rose to 474.3 million euro in 2017, from 371.6 million euro in the previous year.
