PODGORICA (Montenegro), November 21 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro fell to 218.4 million euro ($249 million) in the first nine months of 2018, from 311.6 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow rose to 588.8 million euro in the first nine months of 2018 from 409.7 million euro in January-September 2017, while FDI outflow grew to 370.4 million euro from 98.1 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks rose to 231.9 million euro in the period under review, from 117.1 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew 25.2% on the year to 133.6 million euro.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending rose to 203.8 million euro in January-September, from 177.2 million euro in the like period of 2017.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro rose to 474.3 million euro in 2017, from 371.6 million euro in the previous year.
