PODGORICA (Montenegro), December 13 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro fell to 253.2 million euro ($288.1 million) in the first ten months of 2018, from 380.5 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow rose to 638.2 million euro in the first ten months of 2018 from 499.7 million euro in January-October 2017, while FDI outflow grew to 385 million euro from 119.2 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks rose to 246.5 million euro in the period under review, from 143.8 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew 22.2% on the year to 147.5 million euro.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending rose to 223.9 million euro in January-October, from 201.3 million euro in the like period of 2017.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro rose to 474.3 million euro in 2017, from 371.6 million euro in the previous year.
