August 23 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro fell to 205.7 million euro ($241 million) in the first half of 2021, from 259.2 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow decreased to 349.6 million euro in the first half of 2021 from 378.8 million euro in January-June 2020, while FDI outflow grew to 144 million euro from 119.6 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went up to 80.2 million euro in the period under review, from 69.3 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate grew to 90.5 million euro from 43.6 million euro in January-June 2020.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending decreased to 162.6 million euro in the first half of 2021, from 247.8 million euro in the like period of 2020.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 467.5 million euro in 2020, from 305.1 million euro in the previous year.
