March 18 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Bulgaria increased to 188.4 million euro ($208.0 million) in January, compared with an inflow of 55.9 million euro in the same month of last year, the central bank said on Friday.
The net FDI inflow in January, calculated according to the directional principle, was equal to 0.3% of Bulgaria's gross domestic product projected for 2022, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
The largest net FDI inflow into Bulgaria in the review month, of 57.5 million euro, originated in Germany. Luxembourg followed with 14.0 million euro and the Netherlands with 13.2 million euro. The largest net FDI outflows - of 3.5 million euro and 2.7 million euro, respectively - were directed to Italy and Switzerland.
