February 20 (SeeNews) - Nestle Romania is looking for a buyer for its factory in Timisoara, in western Romania, which in the beginning of last year it decided to close, real estate consultancy Colliers International Romania said on Thursday.
The property, with an area of over 21,000 sq m, can accommodate food or car parts production facilities, or it can be turned into a distribution centre for courier companies, Colliers Romania, which is the exclusive agency for the deal, said in a press release.

"Market signals are encouraging and discussions with potential investors are open, so the sale could be completed within a few months, especially since the property can be occupied immediately," Colliers International Romania partner and head of industrial agency Laurentiu Duica said.
Nestle Romania closed down its factory in Timisoara in May, five months after it announced that it plans to do so. Nestle said in January that some 388 people will be affected by the closing of the factory.
The factory in Timisoara was acquired by Nestle in 2000 and had an annual production of over 10,000 tons of sweets and coffee.
Nestle entered the Romanian market in 1995. Its portfolio now comprises a wide range of products, such as beverages, sweets, culinary products, infant nutrition as well as animal feed.
