December 12 (SeeNews) - As many as 74% of all Swedish companies in Bulgaria plan to expand their business in the country in the next three years, Bulgaria's economy ministry said on Tuesday.
About 94% of the Swedish companies plan to maintain or expand their operations in Bulgaria, the ministry said, citing a survey conducted among Swedish businessmen.
The survey respondents said they were optimistic about the opportunities for return on investment on the Bulgarian market.
The survey also showed that 29% of Swedish companies already present on the Bulgarian market have production facilities in the country, while about 30% of those which do not, plan to launch production in Bulgaria in the next three years.
According to the Swedish companies, the country's main advantages are its EU membership, low costs, infrastructure and location.
Investments by Swedish companies in Bulgaria amount to 200 million euro ($235.1 million) and have created more than 8,500 jobs, the ministry said without specifying the period to which the data refers.
($ = 0.8504 euro)
