November 22 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's UNI Banka said that its net profit fell to 161.9 million denars ($2.9 million/2.6 million euro) in the first nine months of the year from 198.2 million denars in the same period of 2018.
UNI Banka's result was hurt by a nearly threefold increase is net financial expenses, to 152.3 million denars in the review period from 60.7 million denars the year before, figures from the lender's interim financial statement showed.
The bank also boosted its spending on salaries to 251.9 million denars in January-September from 214.6 million denars in the comparable period of last year.
Net interest income rose to 580.7 million denars from 554.2 million denars in the year-ago period, while net fee and commission income grew to 124.1 million denars from 105.9 million denars.
The lender's assets increased to 21.8 billion denars at the end of September from 20.3 billion denars at the end of 2018, as loans and advances to customers other than banks rose to 15.6 billion denars from 14 billion denars.
Deposits from customers other than banks increased to 17.7 billion denars at the end of September from 16.6 billion denars at the end of last year.
