SKOPJE (North Macedonia), January 19 (SeeNews) – Passenger numbers at North Macedonia’s international airports in Skopje and Ohrid dropped 718% year-on-year to 782,876 in 2020, Aeroports de Paris (ADP) said.
In December alone, North Macedonia’s international airports served 49,890 passengers, down 75% on the year, ADP said in a statement on Monday.
ADP owns 46% of Turkey’s TAV Airports, the company operating the airports in Skopje and the lakeside city of Ohrid.
North Macedonia confirmed its first case of coronavirus on February 26. In mid-March, the government ordered the closure of its two airports to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The two airports were reopen in July.
