May 6 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based brewer and soft drinks producer Prilepska Pivarnica [MSE:PPIV] turned to a net loss of 13.4 million denars ($229,200/217,700 euro) in the first quarter, after booking a net profit of 5.6 million denars in the same period last year.
Prilepska Pivarnica's operating revenue increased by an annual 3% to 283.8 million denars in the first quarter of 2022, while operating costs rose 11% to 322.4 million denars, the company said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse earlier this week.
Total financial revenue was 25% higher at 3.6 million denars in the first quarter of 2022, whereas financial expenses surged to 914,000 denars from 47,000 denars in the first three months of 2021.
Prilepska Pivarnica was founded in 1924. It produces beer under the trademarks Zlaten Dab and Krali Marko and holds the licences for distributing Tuborg and Carlsberg brands in North Macedonia. It also produces carbonated non-alcoholic drinks, fruit nectar soft drinks and bottles the products of Pepsi Cola International.
Its shares last traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on March 15, at an average price of 33,000 denars.
