August 7 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's lender NLB Banka [MSE:TNB], part of Slovenian banking group Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB), said on Friday that its net profit fell 27% on the year to 705.4 million denars ($13.6 million/11.5 million euro) in the first half of 2020.
The bank's net interest income edged down by an annual 1% to 1.5 billion denars, whereas its net fee and commission income declined 4% on the year to 506.6 million denars in the period under review, NLB Banka said in an interim financial statement.
Net foreign exchange gains increased by an annual 14% to 93.2 million denars, while other operating income leapt 177% to 131.3 million denars.
NLB Banka increased its net financial asset impairments to 453.8 million denars in the first half of 2020 from 111.5 million denars in the comparable period last year, while amortisation and depreciation costs rose to 95.6 million denars from 91.1 million denars.
The bank's total assets increased to 92.3 billion denars at the end of June from 88.2 billion denars at the end of 2019.
Loans and advances to customers other than banks rose to 56.6 billion denars at the end of June from 54.7 billion denars at the end of 2019, while deposits from such customers grew to 76.1 billion denars from 72.3 billion denars.
