May 7 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based marble producer Mermeren Kombinat [MSE:MERM] said that its net profit surged to 86.9 million denars ($1.7 million/1.4 million euro) in the first quarter of 2021 from 20.7 million denars in the same period a year earlier.
The company's sales revenue jumped to 215 million denars in the three months through March from 90.8 million denars in the first quarter of 2020, Mermeren Kombinat said in a bourse filing last week.
Revenue from domestic sales rose to 1.7 million denars in the January-March period from 824,000 in the like period last year, while revenues from sales abroad increased to 213.3 million denars from 90 million denars.
Cost of goods sold more than doubled to 76.8 million denars from 34.6 million denars.
