March 5 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's power transmission company AD MEPSO said it has launched the reconstruction of a 110 kV power line worth 1.41 million euro ($1.68 million) connecting the Stip and Ovce Pole substations, in the central part of the country.
Under the plan, a new transmission line will be built on an existing route of an old 17.88 kilometre line that has been operating since 1960, MEPSO said in a statement on Thursday.
The reconstruction of the power line is expected to be completed within seven months.
MEPSO is funding the project with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the company added.
North Macedonia's government plans to restore or build a total of six 110 kV transmission lines as part of a 15-million euro investment cycle aimed at upgrading the country's electricity transmission network.
