May 11 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's fuel retailer Makpetrol [MSE:MPT] booked a net profit of 175 million denars ($3 million/2.8 million euro) in the first quarter of 2022, significantly higher compared with the 39.3 million denars profit reported for the like period of last year, it.said on Wednesday.
Total operating revenues amounted to 7.1 billion denars in the period under review, up 77% year-on-year, the company said in an interim financial statement.
Domestic sales rose 75% on the year to 6.8 billion denars, while sales abroad soared to 229.2 million denars in the January-March period of 2022 from 67 million denars a year earlier.
Makpetrol's operating expenses went up by an annual 75% to 6.9 billion denars.
Makpetrol has a network of over a hundred filling stations across North Macedonia. The company also has units in neighbouring Serbia and Greece.
Makpetrol's shares traded at an average price of 78,100 denars on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on Wednesday, bourse data showed.
