March 2 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based fuel retailer Makpetrol [MSE:MPT] said it has booked a net profit of 1.3 billion denars ($22.4 million/21.1 million euro) in 2022, down 6% compared with the year before, as expenses grew faster than revenues.
Total operating revenues amounted to 37.5 billion denars in 2022, up 68% year-on-year, the company said in an annual financial statement filed with the stock exchange in Skopje earlier this week.
Domestic sales rose 70% to 35.1 billion denars, while sales abroad more than doubled to 2.1 billion denars in 2022.
However, Makpetrol's operating expenses increased by 73% on the year to 36.2 billion denars in 2022.
Makpetrol has a network of over a hundred filling stations across North Macedonia. The company also has units in neighbouring Serbia and Greece.
Makpetrol's shares traded at an average price of 67,571 denars on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on Wednesday, the latest available bourse data showed.
