May 9 (SeeNews) - North Macedonian telecommunications group Makedonski Telekom [MSE:TEL] said on Thursday that its non-consolidated net profit rose by an annual 5% to 401.7 million denars ($7.3 million/6.5 million euro) in the first quarter of 2019.
Makedonski Telekom's total operating revenue edged up 1% year-on-year to 2.55 billion denars in the first three months of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement.
Domestic sales added 1% to 2.4 billion denars, while sales abroad fell 8% to 123.4 million denars in the review period.
Total operating expenses fell 1% on the year to 2.08 billion denars in January-March.
Expenses for hired services decreased 5% to 498.7 million denars, while amortization and depreciation costs shedded 1% to 614.7 million denars.
Makedonski Telekom's main competitor in the country of some 2 million people is one.Vip, a unit of Telekom Austria.
