November 28 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's gross electricity production increased by an annual 4.1% to 484,239 MWh in September, the statistical office said, citing preliminary data.
Net electricity output fell by 0.6% year-on-year in September, to 432,401 MWh, Makstat said in a statement on Friday.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of gross electricity production in September, generating 236,665 MWh, down 2.3% compared to the same month in 2021.
Hydro power plants generated 89,004 MWh, up 87% year-on-year.
Wind parks' output rose 12.5% on the year to 7,793 MWh in the month under review, while biogas plants generated 1,599 MWh of electricity, down 57.9% compared with September 2021.
Solar parks produced 2,136 MWh, down 5.7% on the year.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports decreased by an annual 36.3% to 69,297 MWh in September. Electricity exports came in at 119,522 MWh in September, more than double compared to 45,078 MWh exported in the same month of last year.
Distribution losses decreased by 12.5% on the year to 38,664 MWh in September.
