January 26 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's gross electricity production increased by an annual 19.7% in November, to 493,027 MWh, the statistical office said on Thursday.
Net electricity output rose by 19.7% year-on-year in November, to 464,865 MWh, Makstat said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of gross electricity production in November, generating 244,387 MWh, up 47.1% compared to the same month in 2021. Hydro power plants generated 107,468 MWh, up 53.2% year-on-year.
Wind parks' output rose 31.8% to 7,724 MWh in the month under review, while solar parks produced 934 MWh, down 22.9% on the year.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports decreased by an annual 52.8% to 147,479 MWh in November. Electricity exports totalled 86,486 MWh in November, compared to 22,127 MWh exported in the same month of last year.
Distribution losses decreased 10.2% on the year to 114,099 MWh in November.
