SKOPJE (North Macedonia), January 27 (SeeNews) – North Macedonia's gross electricity production decreased by an annual 17.5% to 416,621 MWh in November, the statistical office said, citing preliminary data.
Net electricity output in November also decreased, by 17.9% to 388,099 MWh, Makstat said in a statement on Friday.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of the gross domestic electricity production, generating 267,728 MWh, which was 7.7% lower than in November 2018.
Hydro power plants followed with 87,397 MWh of electricity output, down 24.6% compared to November 2018.
Combined heat and power plants generated 51,811 MWh in November, down from 86,724 MWh produced in the like month of 2018.
Electricity generated by biogas plants fell by 4.0% year-on-year to 4,618 MWh, while wind parks' output fell 36.2% to 4,180 MWh. Solar parks produced 888 MWh of electricity in November, down 16.0% on the year.
North Macedonia’s electricity imports rose by an annual 18.8% to 237,803 MWh in November, while electricity exports fell by 77.6% to 5,689 MWh.
Distribution losses decreased by 8.7% on the year to 112,542 MWh in November.
