SKOPJE (North Macedonia), March 12 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in January rose 21% year-on-year to 35,479, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The number of domestic tourists rose 1.0% to 19,787 in the first month of 2019, Makstat said in a statement.
The total number of tourists staying in the country rose 12.7% to 55,266 in January.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in North Macedonia in January increased 6.9% to 109,733.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in January, 15% came from Greece, 12% from Bulgaria and 11.2% from Albania.
