June 4 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based forwarding company Fersped [MSE:FERS] said that it turned to a consolidated net loss of 8.2 million denars ($149,000//133,000 euro) in the first quarter of the year from a net profit of 7.6 million denars in the same period of 2018.
Fersped's total operating revenue fell 4% on the year to 856.6 million denars in the first three months of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement last week.
Domestic sales lost 5% to 779 million denars in the review period, while sales abroad grew 7% to 73.7 million denars.
Total operating expenses edged up to 849.7 million denars in the January-March period of 2019 from 847 million denars a year earlier.
A 3% rise in expenses for hired services, to 583.5 million denars, was offset by a 9% decrease in cost of goods sold, which totalled 123.5 million denars.
Fersped was established in 1968 and privatised in 1995.
