September 6 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's economic output grew by 13.1% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2021, after declining by 1.9% in the previous quarter, the national statistical office said on Monday, citing estimated data.
The country's gross domestic product totalled 172.9 billion denars ($3.3 billion/2.8 billion euro) at current prices in the April-June period of this year, the statistical office said in a statement.
Exports of goods and services rose by an annual 62.2% in nominal terms in the review period, while imports increased by 64.4%.
Household final consumption, which had a 70.2% share in the GDP structure, grew by an estimated 14.9% year-on-year in the second quarter.
North Macedonia's economic output shrank by an estimated 4.5% in real terms in 2020.
Economic growth of 4.1% is forecast in North Macedonia's 2021 budget.
