June 5 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's economic output expanded by an estimated 2.1% year-on-year in real terms in the first quarter of 2023, after rising by 0.6% in the previous three-month period, the country's statistical office said on Monday, citing preliminary data.
Gross domestic product (GDP) totalled 198.8 billion denars ($3.5 billion/3.2 billion euro) at current prices in the January-March period, Makstat said in a statement.
Exports of goods and services rose by an annual 13.7% in nominal terms, while imports decreased 1.4% in the quarter under review.
Household final consumption grew by an estimated 14.8% on the year in the first quarter, and its share in the GDP structure was 69%.
North Macedonia's GDP expanded by an estimated 2.1% in 2022 after rising by 3.9% in 2021.
