March 10 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's DS Smith Skopje, a unit of British packaging manufacturer DS Smith, said its net profit plummeted 90% on the year in 2021, to 7.95 million denars ($142,500/128,900 euro).
Operating revenues grew 20% year-on-year to 960.1 million denars in 2021, but operating costs were 33% higher at 944 million denars, DS Smith Skopje said in an annual financial statement last week.
Cost of consumer materials and supplies went up 48% on the year to 663.6 million denars in 2021.
Domestic sales came in at 610.9 million denars, up 19% year-on-year, whereas sales abroad were 26% higher at 342.8 million denars.
The company's shares have not traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) in the past year.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, DS Smith is present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Greece and Turkey.
