May 20 (SeeNews) - Macedonian building materials producer Cementarnica Usje [MSE:USJE] said that its consolidated net profit grew by an annual 47% to 138.8 million denars ($2.5 million/2.3 million euro) in the first quarter of 2019.
Cementarnica Usje's total operating revenue rose 32% year-on-year to 851.9 million denars in the January-March period, the company said in an interim financial statement last week.
Domestic market sales increased 31% to 562.6 million denars, while sales abroad added 38% to 266.8 million denars in the review period.
Operating expenses edged up 1% on the year to 661.5 million denars.
Cost of goods sold rose 3% to 124.9 million denars, while expenses for materials and other supplies dropped 5% to 288.4 million denars.
Cementarnica Usje is a unit of Greek-based cement producer TITAN, which owns cement plants in nine countries and employs more than 5,500 people worldwide.
