SKOPJE (North Macedonia), July 18 (SeeNews) – The business confidence indicator of North Macedonia's construction sector rose by 0.7 percentage points year-on-year in the second quarter of 2019, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the indicator was 0.2% higher, Makstat said in a statement.
The expectations for orders in the April-June period are more favourable compared to the previous quarter, and the number of employees is expected to increase, the statement reads.
Managers of the business entities in the construction sector expect selling prices to increase in the next period.
“The factors that had the greatest influence on limiting the improvement of the current construction activity were: no demand with 18.5%, increased material expenditures with 17.9%, shortage of competent staff with 15.6% and competition in the same sector with 12.0%,” Makstat said.
