SKOPJE (North Macedonia), August 14 (SeeNews) – The number of building permits issued in North Macedonia in June increased by an annual 35.1% to 273, the statistical office said on Friday.
The estimated value of the construction projects covered by the building permits issued in June surged by 469% on the year to 12.9 billion denars ($247 million/209 million euro), Makstat said in a statement.
"The higher amount of the expected value is due to the fact that in the previous period a permits were issued for building civil engineering structures with higher amount, like a long-distance transport pipeline in the Pelagonia Region, Section 5 of the long-distance pipeline in the Polog Region, biofuel and wind power plant in Vardar Region, long-distance electricity line from Bitola to the Macedonian – Albanian border in South-West and Pelagonia Region," the statistical office said explained.
Of the total number of permits issued in June, 142 were for new buildings, 54 for civil engineering projects and 77 for reconstruction projects. Of the total, 159 permits were issued to private individuals.
During the review period, 519 dwellings were planned for construction, with a total usable floor area of 45,634 sq m.
