March 27 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia posted a budget gap of 5.7 billion denars ($99.6 million/92.5 million euro) in the first two months of the year, compared with a 6.9 billion denars deficit in the same period last year, finance ministry data showed on Monday.
Consolidated budget revenues totalled 38 billion denars in the January-February period, compared with 35.6 billion denars in the like period of 2022, whereas tax revenues fell to 236 million denars from 513 million denars, finance ministry figures showed.
Total expenditures rose to 43.7 billion denars in the review period, compared with 42.5 billion denars in the like period of 2022.
In February alone, the budget was in deficit of 4.3 billion denars, compared with a 3.4 billion denars gap in the same month last year.
At the end of 2022, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 35.5 billion denars, compared with a 38.8 billion denars gap at the end of 2021.
North Macedonia's government has projected a budget deficit of 42.7 billion denars in 2023, equivalent to 4.6% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP).
