August 6 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's construction company Beton Skopje [MSE:BESK] said it recorded a net loss of 237.6 million denars ($4.6 million/3.9 million euro) in the first half of 2021, compared with a 17.3 million denars net profit booked in the same period last year.
Total operating revenue was down 39% year-on-year at 403.3 million denars in the January-June period, while operating expenses edged down 1% to 612.9 million denars, Beton said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse earlier this week.
Sales revenue, all coming from the domestic market, fell 38% on the year to 399.2 million denars in the six months through June.
The company decreased its cost of consumed materials to 108.2 million denars in the first half of 2021 from 143.2 million denars in the first six months of 2020. Expenses for services rose to 246.9 million denars from 182.1 million denars.
Beton Skopje, founded in 1947, designs and builds houses, roads, bridges, tunnels, hydro systems and industrial plants.
