April 6 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based drug maker Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said on Monday that its consolidated net profit grew by an annual 18% to 1.02 billion denars ($17.9 million/16.57 million euro) in 2019.
Sales revenue rose 13.5% year-on-year to 11.1 billion denars in 2019, Alkaloid said in an annual financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse.
The pharmaceuticals producer noted in a separate statement that its shareholders approved the company's plan to distribute a gross dividend of 360 denars per share for last year.
The company also said it plans to buy back up to 10% of its shares in a period of one year.
Alkaloid has two subsidiaries in North Macedonia and 16 subsidiaries and two representative offices abroad - in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and the US.
The company employs 1,620 people in North Macedonia and 492 in its subsidiaries outside of the country.
