October 28 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based drug maker Alkaloid [MSE:ALK] said on Thursday that its consolidated net profit rose 17% year-on-year to 989.2 million denars ($18.6 million/16 million euro) in the first nine months of 2021.
Sales revenue edged up 6% year-on-year to 9.4 billion denars in the January-September period, Alkaloid said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse.
Bot domestic sales and sales abroad increased by 6%, to 3.3 billion denars and 6.1 billion denars, respectively.
The cost of goods sold was 6% higher on the year at 5.2 billion denars in the review period.
The company's shares traded at an average price of 17,819 denars on Wednesday, bourse data showed.
Alkaloid has two subsidiaries in North Macedonia and 18 subsidiaries and two representative offices abroad - in Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, the U.S. and the UK.
The company employs 1,860 people in North Macedonia and 560 in its subsidiaries outside the country.
