March 27 (SeeNews) - The North Macedonian unit of British packaging manufacturer DS Smith said that it turned to a net loss of 37.3 million denars ($685,000/607,000 euro) in 2018 from a net profit of 22.1 million denars in 2017.
DS Smith Macedonia's total operating revenue edged down 2% on the year to 733.1 million denars in 2018, the Skopje-based company said in a bourse filing on Tuesday.
Domestic market sales rose 4% to 499.1 million denars, while sales abroad fell 11% to 230.5 million denars.
Total operating expenses increased 7% to 759.6 million denars last year, as expenses for materials added 5% to 520.6 million denars.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, DS Smith is present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
